And now, it’s being given a fresh look, a renovation that turns a once-hidden gem into a beacon for explorers, history buffs, and anyone seeking a deeper connection with our islands.

Back in 1911, American geodetic engineers surveyed the entire Philippine archipelago to create a single reference point for all maps, measurements, and navigational needs. They found their anchor in Marinduque. Why here? Simple. It was the most stable, central location from which the rest of the islands could be accurately mapped. This “center of all centers” is officially known as the Luzon Datum of 1911. It became Ground Zero for all land surveys in the country.

The trail to the top has been improved too—making the journey not just easier, but more enjoyable.

What used to feel like a forgotten relic now feels like a destination.
