Laguna Water highlights ESG progress and partnerships in latest Sustainability Report

Laguna Water, a Manila Water Non-East Zone operating unit and the largest water and wastewater services provider in the Province of Laguna, has released its 6th Sustainability Report, which highlights stories of stakeholder partnerships and shared growth with the areas it serves.

Among the highlights of the report include Laguna Water’s proactive efforts to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals, especially Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation. By the end of 2024, the company provided potable water to 132,776 water service connections, equivalent to 644,141 individuals, which is around 18% of the province’s population.

Aside from this, the report also details the company’s investment in programs and technologies that boost operational efficiency while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. By the end of 2024, Laguna Water achieved an 18% carbon reduction through renewable energy and wastewater treatment.

Laguna Water also shared information on its corporate social responsibility and sustainability programs. Among these is the annual tree planting and nurturing activity, Pasibol, through which over 1,500 tree saplings were planted in 2023 and 2024. The company conducted learning sessions to promote access to water and sanitation and supported the environmental programs of local government units.

“Laguna Water actively participates and consistently supports the City of Cabuyao’s environmental activities. Environmental protection is a shared responsibility, and it is one of the private organizations that helps the government in its advocacy,” Ederlinda Caldito, Cabuyao City Environment and Natural Resources Office’s Supervising Environmental Management Specialist,mentioned.

At the same time, we wanted to use this platform to highlight how partnerships helped us achieve operational efficiency and bring positive changes to the lives of the communities we serve.”

Following the footsteps of its parent company, Manila Water, Laguna Water started releasing its non-financial disclosures beginning in 2012. The sixth issue of their Sustainability Report is accessible through their official website www.lagunawater.com.ph.
